New Orleans Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) Launches National Photo Contest
“Let’s Do Shots! New Orleans Photo Contest” Kicks Off August 16

NEW ORLEANS – AUGUST 16, 2010 – Today, the New Orleans CVB is excited to launch the Let’s Do Shots! New Orleans Photo Contest. Amidst the continued impact of the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill, New Orleans remains a world-class travel destination and a city that lives within the hearts of people around the globe. The photo contest seeks to visually represent this by showing locals and visitors enjoying what makes New Orleans special – the cuisine, culture and quality of life.

Beginning August 16, via Facebook, users can upload photos of themselves and their families enjoying their favorite parts of New Orleans. Those who have never been to New Orleans are not left out, as users can also upload pictures of “what New Orleans means to them.” This includes photos of: cooking a New Orleans meal, wearing New Orleans Saints gear, or imitating an ideal trip to New Orleans.

Entries will be taken until September 3, when 10 finalists will be chosen internally and voted on by the public. On September 17, the New Orleans CVB will announce two Grand Prize winners – one local and one visitor. The winners will each receive a three-day/three-night New Orleans experience for two, packaged by Kuoni Destination Management.
