Elysian Fields Inn fared very well during Katrina, all things considered. We had no flooding, but the high winds snapped two two hundred year old pecan trees off at the base. They took out the Inn's second story back porch and a small section of eaves. The trees have now been removed. It took a 35-ton crane to do so. We also had some water damage due to our back french doors being blown open but most of that damage was to our first floor home.
We now have all our utilities back except for our telephone service. If you have trouble calling us please try again. The Inn number is being routed to our cell phone and some times it takes more then one try. We also can be reached at Innkeeper@elysianfieldsinn.com which we check many times a day.
We will open for business on November 7, 2005 and are looking forward to helping rebuild New Orleans by continuing our first class hospitality to our guests.
